Hey Dolphin Families,
This is Mrs. Harley for your weekly updates:
We’ve had a fantastic week of teaching, learning, and growing together! A heartfelt thank you Special thanks to all of our dedicated Dolphin staff for their hard work on an amazing Awards Day and their collaboration in making Red Ribbon Spirit Week a success. To our School Resource Officer, Officer Best, for sharing safety tips with our scholars. To our families, thank you for your continued dedication and partnership with our school—we couldn’t do this without you!
Here’s a look at what’s happening this week at Coker-Wimberly:
NC Check-Ins for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Scholars: These will continue as we assess and celebrate our students' learning progress.
4th and 5th Grade Field Trip: Our scholars will visit ECC on November 6th to enjoy the Symphony, a wonderful cultural experience!
PTO Fundraiser Kickoff: Starting tomorrow, November 4th, our PTO fundraiser will run through November 17th. Scholars will bring home information on Monday.
Canned Food Drive Collection Competition: We’re excited to partner with Joyful Hope Station to collect non-perishable canned goods for families in need. The class that donates the most will win a pizza party! This competition runs from November 4th through November 20th. Let’s work together to make a positive impact in our community!
Fall Festival on November 22nd: Get ready for a day of fun! More details will be shared with families this week.
As we head into the new week, let’s keep encouraging our scholars to excel, support them by monitoring their social media at home, and remember that attendance is key to their success. We look forward to welcoming each scholar every morning at 8:00 AM and seeing them thrive in learning all the way through to dismissal at 3:15 PM.
Thank you for partnering with us to make each day a success!
Have a great week!

Hey Dolphin Families!
This is a friendly reminder that we will begin our check-ins tomorrow. We are excited to see what our scholars have learned and how they can apply their knowledge!
Additionally, our 1st 9-Weeks Awards Celebration will take place on Friday, November 1st. Please see the flyer below for specific details. On the same day, we will also hold our 1st 9-Weeks PBIS Celebration to recognize positive behavior and achievements.
We are thrilled to wrap up the first nine weeks and look forward to the next chapter of teaching, learning, and growing together!
Thank you for your continued support.

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate National Unity Day on Wednesday, October 16th. On this special day, we’ll raise awareness about bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Wearing orange on October 16th symbolizes our stand against bullying, and we invite all staff and scholars to wear their brightest orange shirts. There is no cost to dress down on this day.
Don’t forget that October 21st marks the end of our first nine weeks, with report cards going home on October 29th. Let’s encourage our scholars to finish strong!
Our book fair will run from October 21st to October 29th, providing an excellent opportunity for students to purchase some exciting new reading materials.
Also, mark your calendars for fall picture day on October 28th.
And finally, a friendly reminder—attendance matters! We need our scholars here every day, all day because every moment counts.

We also have an update regarding North Edgecombe High School Homecoming. Due to the expected inclement weather from the tropical storm, the NEHS Homecoming Game has been moved to this Thursday night at 7:00 PM.
In light of the change, students are invited to dress down in orange and black tomorrow (Thursday) for a $1 donation instead of Friday.
Exciting news: Little Mr. and Ms. Coker-Wimberly will be recognized during halftime of the game. Please come out and show your support for our Little Dolphins and cheer on the Warriors!

Good afternoon Dolphin Families,
"Families of students on bus 339 there is a mechanical issue with the bus. They are currently located on HWY 97. There is a mechanic and spare bus on the way. You can expect a 30 minute delay in drop-off. Also Bus 352 is running behind because our bus driver helped take some students home from bus 339. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and patience. "
Ms. Cherry

Greetings Dolphin Families!
Thank you for your understanding as we transition to our new communication platform. To stay informed, please make sure to download the ECPS App on your phone or tablet.
Download for Android https://aptg.co/bk0tYK
Download for iPhone https://aptg.co/RKFnBs"
Once installed, select CWES as your school to receive important school-wide updates, like this one.
Each teacher also has a dedicated "Room" where you can communicate directly with them (similar to Dojo). To fully access these "Rooms," you'll need a "Magic Number." Teachers have already sent the Magic Number letters home. If you haven't received yours by then, please contact your child's teacher via email.
After downloading the app and entering your Magic Number, you’ll be able to access both school-wide announcements and your teacher’s communication.
We will also have an information session about the app during our Title 1 Parent Night on September 25th at 5:30 PM.
*Please ensure your phone number is up-to-date in our student information system, as it must remain accurate for you to stay connected. If your number changes, please notify our data manager so we can update your records and keep you linked to the ECPS communication app.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us stay connected!

Good Morning Dolphin Families,
We wanted to inform you that Bus 339 will be delayed this morning due to unexpected mechanical issues. Our transportation team is working quickly to resolve the problem and ensure the bus is back on its route as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility

Good afternoon Dolphin Families

Schools will dismiss at their normal times this afternoon.
We will share any updated weather-related news as soon as it become available.
Thank you!

Good afternoon Dolphin Families,
